When you view the Properties for one of the SideWinder game controllers listed at the beginning of this article, a generic properties sheet may be displayed with the following two tabs:
NOTE: Axis 3 and 4, the Point of View (POV) hat, and the buttons are not displayed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if some of the Microsoft DirectX files are damaged or missing.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, download and reinstall the latest version of DirectX from the following Microsoft Web site:
