"Test" Button on Camera or Scanner Property Sheet Is Not Available (282987)

The Test button in the property sheet of a scanner or camera is not available, even though a device is installed and working properly.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you have opened more than one instance of the device's properties. The Test button is only available on the first instance of the device's property sheet.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, move or close the property sheet with the unavailable Test button to expose the first property sheet.

It is possible to open more than one instance of a device's property sheet if the device appears in more than one namespace. For example, you can open the property sheet of a scanner in Control Panel, My Computer, and in the Select Device dialog box simultaneously.
If one of the additional properties sheets is obscuring the first properties sheet, the user will not see the properties sheet with the active Test button.
