SYMPTOMS

When you run the ForestPrep utility in Mobile Information Server Setup, you are prompted to type the name of the domain and security group that is used when you install the first Mobile Information Server computer. After you type this information, you may receive the following error message:
This group won't exist. Please check and enter again.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you type the name of the domain and security group incorrectly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, ensure that you use correct spelling and punctuation when you type the name of the domain and security group.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Mobile Information Server, version 1.0.

MORE INFORMATION

Setup does not contain any browse functionality to browse for a domain or group; therefore, make sure that you know the exact name of the domain and security group before you run Setup.

The error message that is described in the "Summary" section of this article can also occur if you do not type a valid domain and security group, or if you do not type any information in the Domain or Security group boxes.
