SYMPTOMS

You cannot switch between .pac and .ins files for your automatic configuration script. You must choose one or the other as your standard.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

If you initially use an .ins file for your automatic configuration script in Internet Explorer and then change to a .pac file, the original .pac file that was used with the .ins file is still loaded.
