The BackOffice Server 2000 Information Roadmap Feature Does Not Work (282923)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BackOffice Server 2000

This article was previously published under Q282923

SYMPTOMS

This article discusses the Information Roadmap feature in Microsoft BackOffice Server 2000.

BackOffice Server 2000 enables you to install multiserver consoles on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional-based workstation, including the BackOffice Server Help file.

When you use the BackOffice Server Help file which is available through the multiserver console on the Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, if you select the BackOffice Server Information Roadmap feature in the right pane, the BackOffice Server Information Roadmap feature is not displayed and it does not open.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the multiserver console is installed on the client workstation without copying onto it the BOS_RDMP.chm file. This file is referenced when you use the BackOffice Server Information Roadmap feature. Since this file is not present, the BackOffice Information Roadmap feature is not displayed; and the system returns to and displays the originating page.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, you must copy the BOS_RDMP.chm file from BackOffice Server to the Windows 2000-based workstation. This file must be placed in the same folder as the BOSHelp.chm file (that is, C:\Program Files\Microsoft BackOffice\Documentation\).

MORE INFORMATION

You can also access the BackOffice Server Help file, by going to the [System root]\Program Files\Microsoft BackOffice\Documentation folder, and then opening the BOSHelp.chm file.

If you perform the preceding task on BackOffice Server itself, the BackOffice Server Information Roadmap feature is displayed. However, it is not displayed when you attempt to use the Information Roadmap feature on the Windows 2000-based client computer.
