Error Message: Suiteconfig.exe Entry Point Not Found (282914)

SYMPTOMS

Before you upgrade from Small Business Server 4.5 to Small Business Server 2000, you can run the Suiteconfig.exe program with a /? parameter to observe what command-line parameters the program accepts. When the program is run by using the suiteconfig.exe /? command, the program may not return the list of command-line parameters, and you may receive the following error message:
Suiteconfig.exe - Entry point not found.
The procedure entry point VerSetConditionMask could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll.
The only option is to click OK.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because the Suiteconfig.exe program attempts to make a call to an entry point named "VerSetConditionMask" in the Kernel32.dll file. In Small Business Server 4.5, the Kernel32.dll file does not contain this entry point.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, run the suiteconfig.exe /? command on Small Business Server 2000. An error message is not displayed, but the following message is displayed:
No command line help is available.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
