WD2002: No Suggestions When Translating First Word in Comment (282566)

In Microsoft Word 2002, when you attempt to translate the first word in a comment balloon, the translation feature in Word offers no suggestion.
WORKAROUND
Try the translation again using either of the following methods.
Method 1: Look Up the Current Selection in the Dictionary- Select the word in the comment balloon.
- In the Translate task pane, in the Translate What section, click Current Selection.
NOTE: If another option is selected, the translation will not work correctly. - In the Translate task pane, in the Look up in dictionary section, click Go.
Method 2: Right-click the Word in the Comment Balloon
NOTE: You may need to repeat these steps more than once to produce results.
- In the Translate task pane, in the Translate What section, click Current Selection.
NOTE: If another option is selected, the translation will not work correctly. - Right-click the word and then click Translate on the menu that appears.
Method 3: Paste the Word in the Translate Task Pane- In the comment balloon, select the word you want to translate.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- In the Translate task pane, in the Translate What section, click Text.
- Click in the Text box, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
- Click Go.
Method 4: Type the Word in the Translate Task Pane- In the Translate task pane, in the Translate What section, click Text.
- Click in the Text box, and then type the word you want to translate.
- Click Go.
