Folder View State Is Reset to Tiles After Upgrade to Windows XP (282476)

When you upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP, your computer's folder view state is reset to Tile view.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Windows XP defaults to the Tile view without using the setting from the previous version of Microsoft Windows.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, you can change the view for the current folder by performing the following steps: - Right-click on an empty area of the folder.
- Click View and select your preference.
To change the default view for all folders, perform the following steps: - Change the view for the current folder, as previously described.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- Click the View tab.
- Click the Like Current Folders button.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows XP.
