SYMPTOMS

When you use a Windows 2000 Server-based computer, the server may display symptoms of a memory leak, such as slow performance, an "out of memory" error messages, or the server may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This problem can occur if an e-mail system that uses the Pickup folder to transfer e-mail messages to the Windows 2000 Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) service exposes a memory leak.

RESOLUTION
