ACC2000: Access 2000 on Terminal Services: Cannot Start Two Lookup Wizards (281979)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Access 2000, when used with:
- the operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000
This article was previously published under Q281979 SYMPTOMS
If you are running Microsoft Access 2000 on Windows 2000 running Terminal Services, you cannot start two Lookup Wizards at the same time.
If you try to do so, you may receive the following error message:
You can only run one instance of the Lookup Wizard at a time.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because of an architectural limitation of Microsoft Access 2000. Access 2000 was not designed to have multiple users use the same set of Wizard databases, and before the advent of Terminal Services, this was not possible.
RESOLUTION
The only way to work around this behavior is not to use the Lookup Wizard functionality in a Terminal Services environment.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
