Comma in Place of Decimal Symbol Causes Report Writer to Miscalculate Results (281859)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Site Server 3.0

This article was previously published under Q281859

SYMPTOMS

When system locale (location) (found on the General tab of Regional Options under Control Panel) is changed to French, the decimal symbol changes from a period (.) to a comma (,). This causes reports that are generated by Site Server Report Writer to be miscalculated. For example, the "Top 10% of All Requests" actually returns 100 percent of requests.

This problem can occur if the setting is changed to any of these:

French (Belgium)
French (Canada)
French (France)
French (Luxembourg)
French (Monaco)
French (Switzerland)

CAUSE

Mathematical calculations do not work with a comma as a decimal symbol.
