SideWinder Game Voice: No Sound from the Game Voice Headset (281802)

When you use the Microsoft SideWinder Game Voice headset, you may not hear any game sounds or the game sounds may be played softly.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
- Your SideWinder Game Voice headset is connected to the Line out jack on your sound card.
- The signal from the Line out jack on your sound card does not have enough power.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.
Use a Headset Jack on an Amplified Speaker
If you have a headset jack on one of your speakers, and your speakers are amplified (have their own power supply), connect the SideWinder Game Voice headset to the headset jack on the speaker.
NOTE: When you connect the SideWinder Game Voice headset to the headset jack on your speaker, the Speaker/Headset switch on the SideWinder Game Voice does not work.
Install New Sound Card
Install a new sound card or speaker system that contains a Line out jack with power.
