OL98: Some Subfolders Are Not Included When You Import a PST File (281651)

SYMPTOMS

When you import personal folders (.pst) files to your mailbox, some of the subfolders are not imported even if the Include subfolders option is enabled.

CAUSE

The behavior occurs because Outlook 98 cannot track the subfolders when you import data from a .pst file.

This behavior is by design.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Outlook 98 that contains this hotfix.
