This article was previously published under Q281599 SYMPTOMS When you try to print from Outlook, you may receive the
following error message: No printers are installed. To
install a printer, point to Settings on the Windows Start Menu, click Printers
and then double-click Add Printer. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
CAUSE This behavior occurs because you do not have a default
printer installed or because Outlook cannot locate your printer.
NOTE: If you are running Outlook 2002 from a remote server (Microsoft
Windows NT Terminal Server Edition), you may have to contact your network
administrator. See the article listed in the "Reference" section of this
article for more information. RESOLUTION Use one of the following methods to resolve this behavior. If You Do Not Have a Printer Installed Use the Add Printer Wizard to install a printer. To do this:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
- Double-click Add Printer, and then follow the Add Printer Wizard instructions.
NOTE: Some printers have their own setup routines that bypass the Add
Printer Wizard. If this occurs, follow the instructions in your printer's
documentation. If you are using Outlook from a Windows Terminal
Server, you may not have the required administrator permissions to add a
printer.
