OL2002: No Way to Change Order of Address Book Name-Checking from Account Manager (281373)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Account Manager and then click View or change existing directories or address books, there is no way to change the order in which Outlook checks names in your address lists.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, change the order from within the address book:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Address Book.
  2. On the Tools menu of the Address Book, click Options.
  3. Under When sending mail, check names using these address lists in the following order, click the name of the address book that you want to list first, and then click the up-arrow to move it to the top of the list.
  4. Click OK.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
