Error 0x80030111 Calling IStorage::Commit (281319)

SYMPTOMS

IStorage::Commit returns error 0x80030111 ("The compound file is too large for the current implementation") when it is called on a structured storage file that is created with the STGM_CONVERT and STGM_TRANSACTED flags.

CAUSE

When the flat file is converted to a structured storage file, the code that initializes the size information is not called.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
