FIX: xp_findnextmsg Returns Multiple Rows When No Parameters Are Specified (281239)

SYMPTOMS

The xp_findnextmsg stored procedure incorrectly returns more than one row if no parameters are specified, as follows: 
DECLARE @status int
EXEC @status = xp_findnextmsg

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
