This article was previously published under Q281235 SYMPTOMS
When you try to run the dsclient.exe /q command, the Active Directory Client Extension (Dsclient.exe) tool does not run in Quiet mode, and the user is still prompted for input.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, use the following command in Quiet mode:
dsclient.exe /c:"setup.exe /q" Note Dsclient.exe is an auto-extracting .cab file.
MORE INFORMATION
After you run the Active Directory Client Extension tool, the client receives a notification that indicates that a restart is required. This behavior is by design, and Quiet mode does not turn off this notification.
