ENT2001: You Cannot Import Data from Palm Desktop (281216)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to import data from the Palm Desktop program, you may receive the following error message:

Import from Palm Desktop could not be completed because a necessary file was not found.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the User Data file is not present or the file that stores the data has another name. The file that stores the data is created when you synchronize the Palm Desktop with a Palm device.

MORE INFORMATION

The import converter that is used with Entourage expects that data entries are stored in the User Data file and that the User Data file is located in the following path:

<Hard Drive>:Palm:Users:<Palm Identity>

The import converter that is supplied with Entourage will not import data from the Palm Desktop if it has not been used to synchronize with a Palm device.
