The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server

This article was previously published under Q281080

SYMPTOMS

When you create a new contact by using Microsoft Outlook Mobile Access, if you do not enter any information, you are not prompted with a warning message, and a blank contact is created. However, when you use Microsoft Outlook 2000, you are unable to create a blank contact.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because like Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), Outlook Mobile Access uses WebDAV to access Exchange 2000. If you are using a client computer that uses WebDAV to access the information store, you can create a blank contact.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
