BUG: You are prompted for your password when you work offline in Outlook 2002 (281064)

This article was previously published under Q281064 SYMPTOMS When you are not connected to the network and you press ESC
to skip the Windows logon, Outlook asks for a password even though it is
configured to automatically detect the connection state at startup. When you
enter the correct password, a message states that your authentication is
invalid, and you cannot work offline. WORKAROUND As a workaround, do not press ESC to skip the Windows
logon. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
at the beginning of this article.
