The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q280941 SYMPTOMS
When you are running Outlook 2002, messages may periodically flow from your Exchange Inbox folder to your Outlook Today Inbox folder, emptying your Exchange Inbox of all messages.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you cancel the first running of Outlook Setup before you create an Exchange Server account. Outlook creates the default local store, Outlook Today, and Exchange Server delivers mail to the Outlook Today Inbox.
This behavior can also occur if you create a profile and add an Exchange account, and then cancel the Exchange Server Settings dialog box.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, make your Exchange mailbox the default delivery location: - In Outlook, on the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
- Click View or change existing accounts.
- Under Deliver new e-mail to the following location, specify your Exchange mailbox, and then click Finish.
- In the Account Manager dialog box, click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
