OL2002: Changes in Remote Mail Properties Do Not Work in Same Outlook Session (280938)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Outlook 2002 with offline storage folders (OST) enabled, and you change the properties for Remote Mail under Send/Receive and then attempt to synchronize Remote Mail with Microsoft Exchange Server, the new properties for Remote Mail may not work.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you change the rules for synchronizing Remote Mail and then continue to work in the same Outlook session.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, after you change the properties for Remote Mail, log off Outlook and then restart Outlook so that the changes take effect.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
