OL2002: Error When You Send Messages to Shared Distribution Lists (280878)

SYMPTOMS

When another Microsoft Exchange user has shared their Contacts folder with you and you address a new message by using more than two distribution lists that are in that folder, you may receive the following error message when you click Send:
An unexpected error has occurred.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you addressed the message by using more than two distribution lists from the shared Contacts folder.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, address the message to no more that two distribution lists at a time, or copy the distribution lists into your default Contacts folder, and send the message from your mailbox.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
