The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2002

This article was previously published under Q280630

SYMPTOMS

Speech recognition is a feature that allows you to dictate text into a Microsoft Word document using Dictate mode. In Voice Command mode, you can select menu, toolbar, and dialog box items by using your voice.

When you use voice commands to select a border width in the Borders and Shading dialog box, and that border width contains a fractional number, the speech balloon does not display the fractional portion of that number.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use the mouse pointer to select the width that you want (for example, 4 1/2 pt).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
