This article was previously published under Q280592 SYMPTOMS
When you reset a customized toolbar button or menu command in any Microsoft Office program, if the control style has been changed, the reset operation may not change the item back to the original style as expected. This behavior occurs both when you manually reset a button or command and when you reset these items through Microsoft Visual Basic.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Office programs do not store the original control style setting, only the current setting. When you reset the toolbar button or menu command, any changes to the icon, name, and assigned hyperlink revert back to the original settings, but the current style setting is not reset.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
