OFFXP: INI File Is Created When You Quit the Setup INI Customization Wizard (280569)

When you use the Setup INI Customization Wizard to prepare a custom installation of Microsoft Office XP, and then you click the Close button in the final dialog box of the Setup INI Customization Wizard, you receive the following message:
Are you sure you wish to exit the wizard? No INI file will be created.
If you click Yes to quit the wizard, an INI file is created anyway.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you click Save and then quit the wizard.
The INI file is created after you click Save and before the final dialog box of the Setup INI Customization Wizard appears. Even if you cancel the wizard when you click the Close button, the INI file remains in your administrative installation point.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, delete the INI file that was created by the Setup INI Customization Wizard. This file can safely be deleted.
NOTE: Do not delete the file named "Setup.ini" because it is the default Setup INI file used by Office Setup.

The Setup INI Customization Wizard allows you to overwrite existing INI files. The wizard also includes Setup.ini, which is the default INI file used by Office Setup. Therefore, be sure to make a backup of Setup.ini and any other INI file before you run the Setup INI Customization Wizard.
The Setup INI Customization Wizard is included with the Microsoft Office Resource Kit. You can use the Setup INI Customization Wizard to modify the Setup settings file (Setup.ini) and customize the way that Setup installs Office XP throughout your organization. Setup.ini is a text file that you can modify to control the installation of Office.
You can edit Setup.ini to specify the same properties as you do on the Setup command line -- every command-line option can be enabled in the settings file. The advantage of modifying Setup.ini is that your custom values are used whenever a user runs Setup from the administrative installation point with no command-line options.
