WD2002: Unable to Close a Wizard with a Menu Command (280551)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Word, when you click Mail Merge Wizard under Letters and Mailings on the Tools menu, the Mail Merge Wizard appears in the right pane of the document window. However, when you click Mail Merge Wizard a second time, this action does not close the wizard as you might expect.

CAUSE

When you start a feature by clicking a menu command, that feature is not turned off by clicking the menu command a second time.

RESOLUTION

To close a wizard or a dialog box in Word, click the Close button (X).
