When you add a column to a table in Word, the AutoCorrect Options button is no longer available for any items in the table. You cannot undo automatic corrections that occurred before you added the column.
NOTE: This behavior does not occur when you add rows or cells to your table.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2002. MORE INFORMATIONHow to Use the AutoCorrect Options button
This feature provides an easy mechanism for you to control and modify automatic behavior that takes place in Word. You can undo an automatic correction, choose to not have that correction take place in the future, or open the AutoCorrect Options dialog box.
Type a sentence that triggers an automatic correction. For example, type Sched. a meeting on 3/4.
Rest the mouse pointer on a word that was automatically changed. The AutoCorrect Options button appears as a small blue box. When you click the box, it changes to a button icon with an arrow. Click the arrow, and a shortcut menu appears with several options.
How to Insert a Column
On the Table menu, point to Insert, and then click Columns to the left or Columns to the right.
