XADM: When You Try to Open Another User's Folder, the Client Computer May Appear to Stop Responding After You Remove a Server from the Site (280306)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5
This article was previously published under Q280306 SYMPTOMS
When an Exchange Server 5.5 client computer user tries to open another user's folder, the client computer may appear to stop responding, or it may require more time than you expect to open the folder.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when distribution lists are used on folder permissions to access another user's folder. Additionally, this behavior may occur after you remove a server from a site where this server was specified as the distribution list expansion server for this distribution list.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, change the distribution lists to expand on any server in the site or specify a valid server to expand the distribution list. To change the expansion server for a distribution list: - In the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program, expand the site name, and then select the Recipients container that contains the distribution lists.
- Select a distribution list that you want to modify, and then click the Properties button on the toolbar.
- On the General tab, select the Expansion Server drop-down box, and then select a valid server in the site or change the setting to Any Server in the site.
- Click OK.
