Money 2001: How to Completely Uninstall Microsoft Money 2001 (280303)

If you want to retain the information in your Money data file, you must first make a backup of your Money data file:

1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
2. In the Named box, type *.mny.
3. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
4. In the list of found files, press and hold down the CTRL key, and then click to select the Money data files that you want to save.
5. Right-click the files that you selected, drag the files to the Microsoft Windows desktop, and then click Move Here.

To completely uninstall Microsoft Money 2001 from your computer, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

Uninstall Money 2001

To uninstall Money 2001:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Money 2001, and then click Add/Remove.
4. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click No.

Delete the Microsoft Money Folder

To delete the Microsoft Money folder:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
2. In the left pane, click the plus sign (+) next to My Computer to expand the branch.
3. Browse to the folder in which Money 2001 is installed.
   
   NOTE: By default, Money 2001 is installed in the following folder

   drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Money

   where drive is the letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.
   
   If Money is installed in a different folder, browse to that folder.
4. Right-click the Microsoft Money folder, and then click Delete. If you are prompted to confirm the folder deletion, click Yes.
5. Restart the computer.

Remove the Money 2001 Registry Entries

To remove the Money 2001 registry entries, download and run the Microsoft Money 2001 Registry Cleaner utility and then restart the computer.
