In PowerPoint 2001, if you try to run a PowerPoint 2000 for Windows presentation that contains code to process PowerPoint events, nothing happens. If you open the Microsoft Visual Basic Editor and try to run the code that initializes the event handlers, you receive the following error message:

Object does not source automation events
CAUSE
PowerPoint 2001 does not provide support for application-level events and event handlers.
