Updating Custom Recipients

Error was encountered in function : HrCreateDAPIEntry.
Error message :

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you used a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)-style distinguished name when you configured the zcExchangeUNSBase attribute.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Start the MAPI Exchange Management Agent, and on the Action menu, click Configure MA.
  2. Click the Connected Directory Specifics tab.
  3. Click the Custom Recipients tab.
  4. If the Exchange Custom Recipients Container Distinguished Name box is configured by using an LDAP-style distinguished name, remove the current configuration.
  5. Type the distinguished name in the following (Exchange-style) format:

    /o=OrganizationName/ou=SiteName/cn=CustomRecipientsContainerName

MORE INFORMATION

An LDAP-style distinguished name differs from an Exchange-style distinguished name in the following ways:
  • An Exchange-style distinguished name is formatted in the following way:

    /o=OrganizationName/ou=SiteName/cn=CustomRecipientsContainerName

but an LDAP-style distinguished name uses the following format:

    CN=User1,OU=Development,L=Redmond,DC=Microsoft,DC=com

  • An Exchange-style distinguished name lists the distinguished name components from left to right, in least-to-most-significant order. However an LDAP-style distinguished name lists the distinguished name components from left to right, in most-to-least-significant order.
  • An Exchange-style distinguished name separates the distinguished name components by using the slash symbol (/). An LDAP-style distinguished name separates the distinguished name components by using the comma symbol (,).
