SUMMARY

When you play Microsoft Links 2001, the message "No 3D Acceleration" may be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

MORE INFORMATION

This is not an error message.

Links 2001 uses software graphics rendering when you start the game for the first time, because this mode is more reliable and is less dependent on the video driver that is installed on your computer.

The "No 3D acceleration" message is displayed as a reminder that the game is running in software mode.

To switch from software rendering to hardware rendering, follow these steps:
  1. On the Links 2001 startup screen, click Options.
  2. Click Graphic Settings.
  3. Under Device, click the manufacturer and the model of the video adapter that is installed in your computer.
  4. Click OK, and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
  5. When you are prompted to, restart the computer.
