No Uppercase Z with Caron on Lithuanian Keyboard with CAPS LOCK Enabled (279629)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using a Lithuanian keyboard with a Lithuanian input locale, a Latin uppercase Z with a caron is not displayed when CAPS LOCK is enabled. A Latin lowercase Z with a caron is displayed instead.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Lithuanian input locale does not contain a definition for the Latin uppercase Z with a caron when CAPS LOCK is enabled.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Windows 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix.

WORKAROUND

To display the Latin uppercase Z with a caron, press the SHIFT key even if CAPS LOCK is enabled.
