Clip2002: Unable to Click and Drag to Select Multiple Clips in Thumbnails View (279483)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to click and drag to select multiple clips in Microsoft Clip Organizer, you may not receive a Select box as expected, in which case only one clip is selected.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the clips are viewed in Thumbnails view. Clip Organizer does not support click-and-drag selection of clips in Thumbnails view.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  2. Start Clip Organizer by clicking Clip Organizer in the Insert Clip Art task pane.
  3. Select the folder that contains the clips that you want in the Collection List window.
  4. To select multiple clips in a collection, use one of the following methods:
    • On the Edit menu, click Select All.

      -or-
    • While pressing the CTRL key, click each each clip that you want.

      -or-
    • Click the first clip that you want, press the SHIFT key, and then click the last clip that you want.

      The first and last clips that you clicked are selected, as well as all clips in between.

      -or-
    • While holding down CTRL, press the A key.

      This is a shortcut to clicking Select All on the Edit menu.
