When you try to add an AppleTalk or Data Link Control (DLC)-based network print device through a Microsoft Terminal Services session, you may receive the following error message:
Source: Add Printer Wizard
Error : Specified port cannot be added. The request is not supported.
RESOLUTION
Use the Add Printer wizard from the console of the server to add the AppleTalk or DLC-based network print device.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
