In the German version of Windows Millennium Edition (Me), if you play a sound file after Microsoft Encarta Interactive World Atlas 2001 plays a .wav file, Windows Media Player (Wmplayer.exe) may generate an access violation, and you may receive the following error message in German:
Wmplayer hat in unbekannt einen
Fehler verursacht. Wmplayer wird geschlossen.
The English translation of the preceding error message is:
Wmplayer caused an error in unknown. Wmplayer will be closed.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, you must install Microsoft DirectX version 8.0 or later.
