Error Message: A TWAIN Source Could Not Be Found in the Windows Folder (279211)

If you are logged on to a Windows Server 2003-based client computer with a Canon MultiPASS 5500 printer (a multi-function printer) installed, and you run a program that uses the Canon TWAIN (technology without an interesting name) user interface, you may receive the following error messages:
A TWAIN source could not be found in the Windows folder.
-or-
The instruction at "0x06406d5e" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Canon TWAIN device-acquisition user interface has not been updated.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, do not use the TWAIN Data Source Control feature.
