SYMPTOMS

Attempting to stop a modem by using the icon on the taskbar while you are connected may generate an error message that states that the device is in use.

CAUSE

This issue is caused by a timing error in the Uniplat.dll dynamic-link library (DLL).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
