When you attempt to use an MS-DOS prompt to copy or move files to a CD-R or CD-RW drive for staging, you may receive an "Access denied" error message.
CAUSE
This issue can occur because the MS-DOS subsystem is not coded to redirect files from the CD-R drive or the CD-RW drive to the staging area.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use either of the following methods to copy or move items for staging:
- Start Windows Explorer, and then click and drag the items to the CD-R or CD-RW drive.
-or- - Right-click the files, point to Send To, and then click Writable CD.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use a command prompt to move the items manually to the CD staging area, which is located in the following folder:
%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
