ENT2001: No Prompt to Select Different Identity on Startup (278943)

SYMPTOMS

If you have set Entourage to allow you to select the identity that you want to use at startup, at times you may not receive the dialog box to make the selection.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if another Microsoft Office 2001 program is running.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, start Entourage to initialize the identity before you start other Office 2001 programs.

MORE INFORMATION

When another Office program is started, the most recently selected identity is initialized, so that that program can use the Address Book and the Me Contact. The information for the current identity is recorded in the Entourage Preferences file.

If another Office program is already started and you attempt to switch identities in Entourage, you receive the following warning message:

To switch Identities, quit all other Microsoft Office programs and then try again.
