BUG #: 57873 (SQLBUG_70)
BUG #: 351334 (SHILOH)
SYMPTOMS
After you enlist a target server and add the new target server to an existing maintenance plan, the plan fails to download to the new target server.
NOTE: This problem occurs only when you add a new target server to an existing plan.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, edit the multiserver job "Change on Target Servers Plan DB Maintenance Plan 1" to include the new target server as follows:
- In the SQL Enterprise Manager (SEM), under Management, click SQL Server Agent, click Jobs, and then click Multi Server Jobs. Right-click the appropriate "Change on Target Servers Plan" job, and then click Properties.
- On the General tab, click Change.
- Add the new target server to the list of selected target servers.
- Add a new schedule to the job, or start the job manually, so that the plan is downloaded to the new target server.
When you run this "updated" job, the plan is now available in the new target server. STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2000.
