OL2000: (IMO) Error Message: Outlook Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Outlwab.dll (278858)

SYMPTOMS

After you click Send in a new e-mail message in Outlook 2000, you may receive the following error message:
Outlook caused an Invalid Page Fault in module Outlwab.dll

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Outlwab.dll file is damaged. This is a shared Microsoft Outlook Express file that Outlook also uses.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, rename and reinstall the Outlwab.dll file. To do this:
  1. Click Start, point to Find (for Microsoft Windows 2000 Millennium Edition (Me), point to Search), and then click Files or Folders (for Windows 2000 Me, click For Files or Folders).
  2. In the Named box, type outlwab.dll.
  3. In the Look in dialog box, click to select the My Computer check box, and then click either Find Now or Search Now.
  4. Right-click Outlwab.dll from the list of found files, and then click Rename.
  5. Rename the file to outlwab.old, and then press ENTER.
  6. Reinstall Outlook Express.
