Quantity Is Not Redistributed When Paid Ad Is Converted to House Ad in Campaign Goaled Campaign (278802)

SYMPTOMS

A campaign consists of multiple paid advertisements. One of the advertisements is converted to a house ad. After the ad is converted, the quantity for the entire campaign is not redistributed among the remaining paid advertisements.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, open the campaign, change the quantity ordered, and then save the changes. The new quantity will be evenly distributed across the remaining paid advertisements.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Start the Commerce Server Business Desk. In the left column, click Campaigns, and then click Campaign Manager in the submenu.
  2. Create a new customer with the name Customer1.
  3. Click the Save and Back button.
  4. Select Customer1 and click the New Campaign button.
  5. Create the new campaign with the following properties:Campaign Properties

    • Campaign name: Campaign1
    • Status: Active
    Advertising/Campaign Goaling

    • Set goals by: Campaign
    • Quantity ordered: 100
    • Schedule by: Requests
  6. Click the Save and Back button.
  7. Expand Customer1, select Campaign1, and then click New Advertisement.
  8. Create three new advertisements with the following properties:Ad 1:Ad Properties

    • Ad name: Ad1
    • Type: Paid Ad
    • Status: Active
    Ad Display

    • Type: HTML
    • Text: This is Ad1
    Ad 2:Ad Properties

    • Ad name: Ad2
    • Type: Paid Ad
    • Status: Active
    Ad Display

    • Type: HTML
    • Text: This is Ad2
    Ad 3:Ad Properties

    • Ad Name: Ad3
    • Type: Paid Ad
    • Status: Active
    Ad Display

    • Type: HTML
    • Text: This is Ad3
  9. Click the Save and Back button.
  10. Expand Customer1, select Campaign1, and note the following:
    • Ad1 has a schedule of 33.
    • Ad2 has a schedule of 33.
    • Ad3 has a schedule of 33.
  11. Select Ad1 and click Open.
  12. In the Ad Editor, click the Ad Properties bar to expand the Ad Properties. Next, select House Ad from the Type select box.
  13. Click the Save and Back button.
  14. Expand Customer1, select Campaign1, and note the following:
    • Ad1 has a schedule of 0.
    • Ad2 has a schedule of 33.
    • Ad3 has a schedule of 33.
    Note that the quantity removed from Ad1 was not redistributed across Ad2 and Ad3.
