Internal Error 2755 Installing Mobile Information Server from a Terminal Server Session (278603)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server
This article was previously published under Q278603 SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to run Mobile Information Server Setup through a Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services window, if you map a drive during the terminal session to the location of the installation files that are shared on another computer, when you try to run Setup using that mapped drive letter, the installation does not work, and you receive the following error message (assuming that drive Z is the mapped drive):
Internal Error 2755. 3,
Z:\path_to_files\airstream.msi
WORKAROUND
To successfully run the installation during a Terminal Services session, two options exist:
- Copy all source files to the Terminal Services computer, and then run setup.exe from this location.
- Use the full universal naming convention (UNC) path to the source files. For example:
\\servername\sharename\path_to_files\setup.exe
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
