This article was previously published under Q278570

SYMPTOMS

The following event ID messages may be logged in the Application event log of the Mobile Information Server computer:

Event ID: 268
Source: Mobile Information Server
Type: Error
Category: None
Description:
Unexpected HTTP status 500 code was received from the Mobile Information Server. Check your network connectivity.

-and-

Event ID: 14
Source: MobiInfo
Type: Error
Category: None
Description:
Message cannot be sent to user username because this user is not enabled for Wireless Mobility. Ask your system administrator to enable this user.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if a user who was previously enabled for the Wireless Mobility functionality in Active Directory has been disabled, but they continue to place items in the wireless device's folder in their Exchange mailbox. In this case, Mobile Information Server continues to attempt to push messages to the device.

WORKAROUND

This message can be ignored if the user was disabled for Wireless Mobility on purpose. However, it is recommended that you contact the user who is specified in the event message and instruct them to remove any rules that forward messages to their device's folder for the device that is no longer being used for Wireless Mobility.

MORE INFORMATION

In addition to the event messages, the user may receive an non-delivery report (NDR) in their mailbox.
