Slide previews are blank in Windows Explorer when you preview a presentation from PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003 (278542)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to preview Microsoft PowerPoint presentation slides with Microsoft Windows Explorer, the slide previews appear blank.

When you click Web Page Preview on the File menu, the slides in the preview pane of Windows Explorer do not appear as expected. Slide previews that contain only text do appear as expected, but slide previews that contain any graphics appear blank.

RESOLUTION

There is no resolution to the previewing problem, but the full-sized slides all appear as expected when viewed in a browser.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
