SYMPTOMS

Your program uses the StgOpenStorage function to open a corrupted file. If you run the application on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, the return value of this function is STG_E_DOCFILECORRUPT (0x80030109), which indicates that "The docfile has been corrupted". However, when you run the application on a Windows NT 4.0-based computer to open the same file, the system stops responding (hangs) with 100% CPU utilization.

CAUSE

This behavior is caused by a problem in the Structured Storage Layer.
