XFOR: Event ID 32 Occurs When Starting MSExchangeCCMC (278397)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus cc:Mail service (MSExchangeCCMC), the service may not start and the following event may be reported in the application event log:

Event ID 32
Source MSExchangeCCMC
Type: Error

Failed to initialize the internal configuration object.
Ensure that the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus cc:Mail has been configured correctly.

Initialization problems could also be due to failure to bind to Active Directory. Ensure that the values for HomeDSA, Organization, OrgUnit, and CommonName are correct in the registry under the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExhangeCCMC\Parameters.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Lotus cc:Mail address is not entered under Default Policies (the proxy address generator).

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue:
  1. Start the Exchange System Manager.
  2. Click Recipients.
  3. Double-click Recipient Policies.
  4. Double-click or right-click Default Policy.
  5. Click the E-Mail Addresses tab and click to select the cc:Mail address check box.
  6. Click Apply, and then OK to close the Default Policy Properties window.
  7. Right-click Default Policy and click Apply this policy now.
  8. Click Recipient Update Service, in the right pane, right-click the Recipient Update Service for the domain, and then click Rebuild.
